The Adaptive Layer
A model reads the chain's own traffic and proposes fee, gas and batch settings. Governance sets how far it can go.
Four Signals In, Three Settings Out
The model reads what the chain already records, and it can move only three settings.
Reads
Queue depth
How many transactions are waiting for the next block.
Gas used
How full recent blocks were, against their target.
Payment bursts
Spikes of x402 payments as agents call APIs in waves.
Batch costs on Base
What it costs to post EVVO's data to Base right now.
Forecast
Moves
Base fee curve
How fast the base fee rises and falls with demand.
Block gas target
How full a block aims to be before fees start to climb.
Batch posting to Base
When EVVO posts its next batch of data to Base.
It cannot touch balances or accounts, and it has no say in the order of transactions.
Read. Forecast. Propose. Apply. Publish.
Each pass covers a window of upcoming blocks and ends with a public record.
01Read
Every window starts with the chain's telemetry: queue depth, gas used, payment bursts and batch costs on Base.
02Forecast
The model forecasts the traffic ahead: when demand will rise, when it will fall and when posting to Base gets cheaper.
03Propose
It proposes values for the base fee curve, the block gas target and the next batch time. The proposal and its forecast go on chain before anything changes.
04Apply Within Bounds
A proposal inside the governance range can be applied. A proposal outside it is not applied, and the setting holds. On testnet nothing is applied at all. The proposal stays a recommendation.
05Publish the Outcome
When the window closes, the real traffic is written next to the forecast. Over time the pairs become the model's public record: where it helped, where it did not.
Each pass leaves the forecast, the proposal and the traffic that actually came, side by side on chain.
Four Rules Outside the Model
The limits sit outside the model, where governance sets them and anyone can read them.
Bounded
It moves a setting only inside a range that governance has set. $EVVO holders will set those ranges, and they will be public.
Public
Every forecast, change and outcome is written on chain, so anyone can check whether it helped.
Advisory First
On testnet it only recommends. It acts on mainnet only after its record is public.
Switchable
A fixed default always exists and the model can be turned off. Without it, the chain runs on the default.
- Governance range
- Fixed default
- Model proposal
- Applied
Advisory. The proposal is published, the default applies.
A Public Record Before Mainnet
The model predicts in public first. EVVO Explorer will show every forecast against the traffic that came.
In Phase 3 the model runs on the testnet as an advisor. It completes the full loop and writes each forecast, proposal and outcome on chain, but the chain keeps its fixed settings.
Anyone can read that record in EVVO Explorer and judge it. The model acts on mainnet only after the record is public, and only inside the ranges governance has set.
Phase 3
Adaptive Layer, advisory
The forecasting model runs on testnet and publishes every forecast against the outcome.
Phase 4
Mainnet
EVVO on Base, with EVVO Bridge, EVVO Pay and agent bonds. The Adaptive Layer starts acting, inside governance limits.
- window
- a range of upcoming blocks
- inputs
- queue · gas used · payments · batch cost
- forecast
- demand rising
- proposal
- base fee curve, steeper
- bounds
- inside governance range
- applied
- no (advisory)
- outcome
- written when the window closes
The shape of one record. Real values start in Phase 3.
Where the Model Stops
EVVO's 2024 plan put AI inside consensus. The Adaptive Layer sits outside it.
Outside consensus
A Layer 3 orders transactions with a sequencer and settles to the chain below. The model is outside that path. It does not choose who produces blocks or which transactions go in.
On the record
Its inputs are the chain's telemetry, its outputs are three named settings and its record is on chain.
Optional
Turn it off and the chain runs on the fixed default.
The Sequencer Is Centralized at Launch
EVVO starts with a single sequencer, run by EVVO. It orders transactions and posts them to Base in batches. Decentralized sequencing comes in a later phase, with operators staking $EVVO.
